I had a dreadful experience with Bernard Skinner while trying to purchase a property in Eltham. My offer was accepted, and I was assured that the property had been taken off the market with no further viewings. However, more than a week later, I was suddenly informed that a previous viewer had made a higher offer, and the property was no longer minedespite their repeated reassurances that all prior viewers had been contacted and no other offers had been made.

They later backtracked on their assurances, claiming that I had misunderstood and that the property would only be taken off the market once I had provided certain documentssomething they had never mentioned before. This was a blatant attempt to cover up their dishonesty and justify their unethical behaviour. I had already appointed a solicitor, paid a deposit, and spent money on translation services, all based on their false promises.

As a result, I suffered financial loss and unnecessary stress. This was an incredibly unprofessional and deceitful experience. If you're looking for a trustworthy estate agent, avoid Bernard Skinner.

Bernard Skinner Agency was really helpful recently selling my property in what proved to be a difficult market (Brexit!!). Sales side (Scott) was hard working with excellent communcation. Sales progressor (Amanda) was informative and comminication between buyer and seller via Amanda was efficient and proactive. It is expensive at 1% commission plus VAT but this is competitive in comparison to other local agents. I believe that the determination to obtain a sale was worth the price when considering possible use of online agencies - I'm not sure that the same level of effort would have been made.
